Sports Festival

Welcome to Yuuei's annual Sports Festival. Thank you to everyone for joining us. We have three rounds to eliminate the students until one student is left standing. Who will it be? Let's find out by getting the show on the road.

Round one is an obstacle race. And it's every student for themselves. What is waiting for the students? Let's just say it is going to be fun to watch.

Obstacle race:
1. Water pit. The 20 feet long pit is full of water. There are motors to keep the water so it is not standing still.
2. Robots. Remember your friends from the entrance exams? Well, they're back.
3. Mine field. Just enough power to make a lot of noise and smoke.

The Yuuei Academy Sports Festival...being able to be in such a competition was enough in itself to make her want to hide, but then again she was here to try and get past her shyness, and be better at her ability. She just wanted to get through it all, regardless of what place she came in. Aiko stood at the starting line, debating the first challenge that lay ahead which looked like a very long swimming pool. She was a decent swimmer, but perhaps she could bypass any hazards by walking on top of it? But that would mean using her Quirk...and a good rhyme and enough concentration to make it that far. And who knew what other obstacles lay ahead? The brunette's mind raced while wishing the other students good luck, while being very unsure of herself.

The day that Kyosuke was simultaneously looking forward to and dreading was finally here.

Standing at the start line, the teen looked around him at his peers. Many of his juniors were understandably anxious, not quite knowing what to expect and how they would be able to overcome the various obstacles in the course. Likewise his batchmates and seniors were no less apprehensive: having participated in the Sports Festival before, they knew better than to drop their guard and underestimate the obstacle course.

Still, there was no point in worrying excessively. He had been training hard for the Sports Festival, and all that was left was for him to put in his best.

"Best of luck, Kyosuke-san!"

A voice broke his train of thought. He wheeled around to see Yoshi, his classmate, smiling and unperturbed by what was to come. "Thank you. Best of luck to you too," he said.

"Thank you!" she beamed, but her expression changed as the pressure of competing in the Sports Festival struck her belatedly. "Honestly I'm really nervous… my quirk's not very useful for the Obstacle Course. And we're competing individually so we can't help each other out."

"Yea… that's a little iffy," he nodded as he replied, and he stopped there, not quite sure what else he could say or do. He would love to help others who struggled with certain obstacles, but such 'kindness' would deny them the chance to overcome problems using their own strength. "Well… whatever happens, as long as we put in our best, we'll have no regrets, right?"

"Yup!" Those words were enough to reassure Yoshi. Something caught her attention and she looked over Kyo's shoulder and waved, before turning back to him. I'll just run over and say hi to someone. Hopefully we'll meet each other at the finish line?" With that she waved and dashed off.

Kyo couldn't help but smile as he saw his ditzy classmate vanish into the crowd of students. Though the words he had said were meant for her, they applied to him as well. Yes, so long as he did his best, that was enough.

The first obstacle was a 20-foot pool of churning water, a definite problem for anyone who couldn't fly, jump or otherwise make their way across without getting wet. Fortunately for Kyo, this wasn't a problem at all. All he needed was a running start and a tiny burst of power before he jumped, and he should be able to tackle the next obstacle.

Myrl tied back her fluffy iridescent like hair back in a just as fluffy ponytail as she rubbed her hands together to pray that this sports event will be okay for her. This year felt simple enough and there wasn't any direct combat either, till the second round anyway, to which the girl groaned at that being where she'll likely drop out. "Please let that be a race or something," she prayed fruitlessly in the crowd of other students who clearly had better odds or just already being in their hero class to start with. The people around her were just as anxious and already planning on what to do for each stage with their quirks in tactical work.

"Ah!? It's starting!" Realization settled in as Myrl noticed people were lining up at the starting line. She jogged to get in place before hitting it off to the first portion of the race. The waters were moving in such a way that it would make a straight swim hard without some aquatic specials. Myrl started to get her plastics in gear as she crafted up a long rope and started to blow into it, inflating up a human sized bubble. It took her a bit of time to get it to her size and thickness before diving in and making adjustments to both the inside and out. Inside she started making a harness for herself and grooves within while on the outside, paddles poked outwards. Satisfied with the buoyancy of her craft, Myrl started to run the bubble like a hampster ball to reach the other side against the currants and bobbing nature of the water and other students making waves.

((OOC: I believe I'm posting out of turn order here, but I'm just putting this in first because I'm gonna be out of town for 2 weeks.))

All around Kyo, people were utilising their own quirks in different ways as they attempted to cross the water pit. Those fortunate enough to be blessed with the ability to fly breezed through the first stage of the race. Quite a number leapt into the churning water without hesitation, of which a couple shapeshifted into various forms even before they hit the water. There were a couple of interesting quirks being showcased as well. A short distance away, he could see a girl who had created a huge plastic sphere around herself and was rapidly rolling across the water's surface. And someone else was building a narrow bridge across the pool of water.

Backing up a little, Kyo focused on the pool before him, and sprinted. Just as he approached the water's edge, he put in a burst of energy and leapt, propelling himself over the pool (and the students in it). He was now swiftly approaching the far bank. His feet hit the damp ground, and immediately he could feel the impact of his landing. His quirk kicked in right on cue, reducing the impact dramatically and softening his landing.

Still looking straight ahead, Kyo raced after the leaders of the pack towards the second obstacle.

Ciara prepped at the starting line, glancing around at her competition. The usual was there from her class and the B class, but she knew she could beat at least a few of them. She had never not made it to the tournament, after all. She grinned to herself, athletics and power usage were what she was best at. No more of the bore of every day social life, now was time for the real deal, something exciting and that she could use to prove what she could accomplish with her abilities, though whether or not she used her light more than a few times she had yet to decide. She smiled a little as the countdown began, taking off the moment the go was given.

She was one of the first few to arrive at the pool of water, though she was one of the few to not break stride. She had assumed there was going to be a gap somewhere, so she had already been gathering shadows around her while she ran. She jumped, the shadows around her springing out and thrusting her forward, the wisps wrapping around her while she was in the air. She rolled as she hit the ground, quickly regaining her composure. Sure, it wasn't as graceful as someone who could fly, or as ingenious as someone without a mobility power, but she didn't need to be too flashy, practicality was a good thing to have as well.
